The cold that is going around has hit our class. Many kids have been out sick, thank you to the families that let me know when your child will be sick. Please continue to call the attendance hotline and transportation when your child is sick. Hopefully, everyone will be feeling better for winter break!
During a collaboration meeting yesterday, the occupational therapist, Linda presented wonderful information about heavy work activities and exercises. Heavy work helps regulate, organize, calm, and alert our bodies. Heavy work can help improve attention to a task at hand. It can also be a movement break that can act as a reset button when our bodies are feeling disorganized. I am attaching the handout with heavy work activities and exercises. Please do not hesitate to email me or Linda if you have any questions about heavy work! Remember! There is no school December 22-January 5 Some parents have asked about the number of teachers in the classroom, there are 5 teachers, 2 speech team members, 1 occupational therapist, 1 physical therapist. There are 8 members on the CEIA team. Thank you!
