Due to the air quality we have spent a majority of the week inside during the school day. Staff has put backpacks on hooks and taken out and put away the yummy snacks. During inside recess the wonderful paraprofessionals have created movement courses in the classroom with stepping stones, bouncy balls, and turned our cube chairs into steps to climb over. The dramatic play area that was turned into a pumpkin patch! Exploring the new sensory table has also been out during this time.
Safety and Fun are Number 1 is my moto! To keep up to date on the air quality and the district response, hopefully you are receiving e-mails from Elizabeth Graswich and from Live Oak Principal Nadine Rosenzweig. For more information about the Bay Area Air Quality, visit http://www.baaqmd.gov/about-air-quality/current-air-quality. For the most recent Spare the Air numbers see the links below: http://www.sparetheair.org/stay-informed/todays-air-quality/five-day-forecast http://www.sparetheair.org/stay-informed/todays-air-quality/air-quality-index When the district and school says to come directly to the classroom, the front door will be unlocked by 7:55 AM. Please come right in, staff will hang up backpacks and take out snacks. New circle time books: EEK! Halloween! 5 Little Pumpkins Pumpkin Shapes In the upcoming weeks and depending on the air quality we will be begin to practice for Halloween. From discussions with the office and other Live Oak staff there is a school wide parade on the upper playground.* Every grade level team has been collaborating to create their costumes that are top secret! The preschool team has been hard a work making our costumes for the parade! The parade will involve us walking up the ramp to upper campus and entering the parade with the rest of the school. We will walk one lap around the playground then come right back to our classroom. We will not be having a party but it will be a day of fun! *more information to follow about the parade, time, and where you can watch! I'll post again on Instagram soon!
